Its colossus looks are deceptive: the new Range Rover Sport certainly grows by 62 mm compared to the old generation but it remains 15 cm shorter than the "real" Range Rover with a total length of 4.85 meters. If it cannot deny an obvious aesthetic affiliation with the Rolls of 4x4s, the Range Rover Sport is lower and wants to be more dynamic with less massive lines.
As for the finish, as we said, the first Sport had undergone a significant change in 2010 during the facelift. This time, it immediately adopts many elements of its big brother as well as the quality of its finish, close to perfection and offering multiple choices of materials, inserts and leathers.
Much wiser, the 292 horsepower SDV6 version fits between the 258 horsepower TDV6 and the 339 horsepower SDV8. This diesel shines with its discretion and ease thanks to its torque of 600 Nm, without consuming too much (8.5 l/100 readings on our route).
The new Range Rover Sport improves on all points compared to its predecessor. Lower weight and fuel consumption, higher performance, modern engines and transmissions, and convincing road handling, while remaining the most gifted in its category in all terrain.
